THE PATH NOTES

Sources and editorial policy

An answer is only as broad as the evidence behind it.

Sources were checked October 4, 2026. Publication dates and version limits appear in the individual guides. We do not label community reports as firsthand testing, infer a fix from a patch-note omission, or transfer a PC workaround to consoles.

Guide evidence

Quest routes, gear and support articles

Every task page has its own Sources and version limits section. The expanded directory includes official CDPR support for editions, mods, rewards and PC repair; attributed quest walkthroughs from Gamer Walkthroughs and GameBanshee; gear routes from Witcher Wiki; and dated Steam or Reddit player discussions. A refreshed game title on an old article does not make that article a verified 5.x playtest.

Use the guide directory to choose a task, then check that page’s evidence before applying its route. Published hardware targets include their upscaling and frame-generation conditions. Quest pages mark spoilers. A current search excerpt can identify a problem without establishing its cause or a successful repair.

What we hold back

A named culprit for trophy failures, a guaranteed White Lady repair, a universal platform-achievement fix and two-way cross-version save compatibility are not established here. Unresolved cases remain unresolved rather than becoming standalone pages.

Representative artwork comes from the official Remastered feature announcement and belongs to CD PROJEKT RED. Local WebP variants are resized versions of that art; it is not a screenshot proving the trophy workaround.

Updates and corrections

A source-check date records when we checked the evidence. It does not promise that every report was reproduced on that day's latest build. If a new patch or a more specific success report changes an answer, the affected content and its substantive update date should change together.
