For the documented Triss route, kiss her during A Matter of Life and Death, help her in Now or Never, then choose “Stay with me” and “I love you” at the docks. Keep a save before this sequence. Telling her to stay without the earlier prerequisite is not a reliable substitute.
Check the earlier party decision
The creator walkthrough links the romance to the earlier party kiss and agreeing to help in Now or Never. If you are using a save made after the party, establish which choice that character actually made. A later dock save cannot change an earlier dialogue choice.
Finish the Novigrad sequence before advancing to The Isle of Mists. You can be affectionate without committing to every romance; the main commitment choices are what matter when comparing Triss and Yennefer.
Reach the docks
Now or Never takes Triss and the mages through the sewers. Follow the escape objectives and prepare for the katakan rather than expecting the romance conversation at her apartment. The optional rescue of missing mages has consequences for Olivier in the legacy walkthrough, so keep a separate save before selecting that branch.
Make the declaration and wait
- At the departure conversation, ask Triss to stay.
- Choose the love declaration for the committed route.
- Continue the scene; do not assume the initial departure animation is the final result.
The recorded route shows Triss returning while Geralt speaks with Dijkstra. ECSESS Games’ 2023 Now or Never video demonstrates the legacy sequence; it is a spoiler link, not Remastered test footage.
If you also want Yennefer
Review The Last Wish commitment before choosing it. Committing to both main romances does not produce a lasting relationship with both. Keep separate branch saves if you want to compare stories rather than combining two commitments in one character’s history.
