Complete Of Swords and Dumplings at Hattori’s shop in Novigrad. The supplier meeting, bodyguard and warehouse sequence unlock his swordsmith service; simply finding the dumpling shop is not enough.

Meet the supplier after dusk
Speak with Hattori about swordsmithing, then meet him at the docks after 8pm. Negotiate with the supplier and survive the ambush. Return to Hattori’s shop to continue his request for protection. Keep a manual save before the meeting if your character is underprepared.
Recruit Sukrus and collect supplies
- Find Sukrus near the Golden Sturgeon and complete his fight/conversation.
- Resolve the debt involving his merchant brother-in-law. Use an available persuasion option or follow the alternative goods objective.
- Report back and continue Hattori’s request for supplies.
- Meet the group at the warehouse after dark. Resolve the guard dialogue, enter, and mark all three supply crates using Witcher Senses.
- Finish the confrontation outside and return to Hattori. Follow his wait/return prompt for the promised sword.
If the crates cannot be marked
A legacy player report describes interacting with the warehouse crates before the quest stage, then losing the required prompt. It does not establish a safe fix for every build. Keep your current save; if available, test an earlier slot from before entering or interacting with the warehouse. Record the exact current objective and whether all three crates are selectable.
No guessed addfact command is provided: completing one checkbox can leave other quest states inconsistent. For the resulting service, see sword Reforge. Armor uses Yoana’s separate quest, so Hattori’s unlock is not an armor-crafting repair.
