On an imported Remastered character, review and spend the returned skill points before judging your build. CDPR documents a reworked tree and skills with at most three ranks. An older guide using different ranks is not a drop-in current allocation. We do not have a tested “strongest 5.x build” to claim.
Choose one starting direction
| Your usual actions | Planning direction |
|---|---|
| Mostly sword attacks and dodges | Melee core; compare Cat equipment |
| Frequent offensive and control Signs | Sign core; compare Griffin equipment |
| Alternate swords, defense and Signs | Mixed core; compare Wolf equipment |
| Survival is the main problem | Review defensive tools and current resistances before chasing a damage ranking |
These are build directions, not exact numerical presets. They help you decide which current skill descriptions to read first and which equipment hunt is worth your resources.
Rebuild in small steps
- Keep an unchanged save before reallocating.
- Read each candidate skill’s current effect, rank cap and prerequisites.
- Spend enough points to test your core approach, then confirm the skills are active in the current interface.
- Use the same nearby encounter to compare survival, stamina use and damage.
- Only then add secondary skills and invest in a full equipment upgrade.
Change one part of the setup at a time. If you simultaneously swap armor, abilities, difficulty and potions, an improved result does not tell you which change helped.
When an old build needs more evidence
Exact Euphoria, toxicity, mutation and damage formulas require current compatibility or testing. A familiar skill name does not establish an unchanged effect. Use the reset guide for an imported character and the school comparison for gear. Keep the older allocation as a historical reference rather than advertising it as our verified Remastered best build.
