The Witcher 3 White Gull: recipe, ingredients and missing formula

Check Alcohol in the Alchemy menu, find the White Gull manuscript if needed, and gather the five ingredients for the crafting recipe.

Check the recipe before shopping

White Gull is crafted through Alchemy, not a finished potion you should expect every merchant to sell. Check the Alcohol category first: the recipe may already be learned even if it is not where you were looking.

If White Gull is not listed

Review the alchemy categories and current filters, then look for its manuscript at herbalists or alchemists. The older published guide reports finding it with Tomira in White Orchard, Keira Metz in Velen, the alchemist west of Oxenfurt and Gremist in Skellige. These are places to check, not a guaranteed inventory for every quest state or current build.

Buy and learn the formula if it is actually offered. Then confirm White Gull appears in your own Alchemy menu before travelling for the rest of the ingredients. The older community thread specifically describes overlooking the Alcohol category.

Prepare one craft

IngredientLegacy recipe quantity
Empty bottle1
Redanian herbal1
Cherry cordial1
Mandrake cordial1
Arenaria1

Compare the actual missing row in your crafting menu before buying a substitute. Redanian herbal and the two cordials are distinct ingredients. For the plant, use the Arenaria gathering route.

Craft and confirm the material

  1. Choose White Gull in Alchemy and inspect the ingredient counts.
  2. Acquire the missing ingredient by its exact name.
  3. Craft one batch, then check the resulting item and the recipe you originally wanted it for.
  4. For several upgrades, use each recipe’s displayed requirement to calculate your shopping list before spending all your crowns.

If the craft is unavailable despite matching ingredients, record the menu, filters and enabled mods. The sources establish an older recipe and menu check; they do not establish new 5.x quantities or a command-based repair. Use the values displayed by your installed version if they differ.
