Connect your CDPR account to mod.io, subscribe to a compatible mod, restart, and check Installed. A subscription alone does not prove the mod is installed and enabled.
Install one mod and confirm its state
- Keep a save from before mod use, especially if console achievements matter.
- Open Mods from the main menu and follow the CD PROJEKT RED account and mod.io connection prompts.
- Choose a mod that supports your device and subscribe. On consoles, look for its console-availability tag.
- Restart the game and open Installed. Check that the mod is listed and its enabled checkbox is selected.
- Load a suitable separate test save and check the mod’s advertised change. Follow the creator’s dependencies and version notes.
If it does not appear or take effect
Compare account, platform availability, installation and enabled state separately. A PC-only subscription does not make that mod available on console. New installation requires an online connection; already-installed required mods may be used offline.
Change one mod at a time when diagnosing behavior. Record its name, version and dependencies so a failed test is repeatable. A mod manager outside the game may have separate deployed files; unchecking an in-game entry does not establish a completely clean PC installation.
Check the save consequences first
Read modded-save achievement and cross-progression rules before using your only long-term slot. If an older scripted mod stops working after the upgrade, look for a creator update for your current build rather than forcing old files into the installation.
For a monster trophy failure, keep the specific pre-kill replay limits. Successful installation is not evidence a mod fixes an unrelated quest bug.
