Keira Metz: how to send her to Kaer Morhen and avoid the fight

Use the Fyke Isle conversation to persuade Keira toward Kaer Morhen before demanding the research notes.

To preserve the documented safe route for Keira, persuade her to go to Kaer Morhen during For the Advancement of Learning. Challenge her plan to approach Radovid, then suggest Kaer Morhen. Ask about taking the notes after she accepts that destination rather than opening with a confrontational demand.

Save before the tower conversation

This decision happens in Keira’s Fyke Isle quest sequence, not when you first meet her or merely complete the ruins. Keep a manual save before the final conversation at the tower. If you want to avoid outcome spoilers, stop after this preparation and follow the in-game dialogue carefully.

Using a save after Keira has already left cannot replay the earlier choice inside that same branch. Decide which campaign slot you are willing to continue before loading an older checkpoint.

The persuasion route

  1. Discuss why approaching Radovid is dangerous. The legacy walkthrough uses the warning that he does not forget.
  2. Suggest Kaer Morhen as the alternative.
  3. Let her agree to that plan before asking about the research notes.

Sending her to Radovid and escalating the argument into a fight are different outcomes. Neither is a prerequisite for the Kaer Morhen route. A prior romance scene alone does not make the later political conversation safe.

What to check afterward

Confirm the quest journal result and continue your story from the chosen save. For reaching the fortress yourself, use the Kaer Morhen story-access guide; Keira’s destination does not grant Geralt immediate unrestricted travel there. For the earlier ruins, see Wandering in the Dark and the lamp puzzle. We do not have evidence that a Remastered patch retroactively reverses Keira’s outcome in an existing save.
