Getting started

The Witcher 3 Remastered Bard’s Ballad accessibility settings

Enable Bard’s Ballad in the Accessibility settings, choose the assistance you need, and compare it with your normal difficulty and save setup.

Find the preset

Open Settings → Accessibility to enable and customize Bard’s Ballad. The preset is also offered when starting on Just the Story. You can choose individual assistance options rather than accepting an unchanged preset.

Choose the problem you want to reduce

The announced options include adjustable vitality regeneration, infinite breath, ignored item weight, unlimited gear and boat durability, faster boats and toggled Witcher Senses.

Pick the option that addresses your difficulty: holding a button, managing breath while diving, returning to repair equipment, or carrying loot. This keeps the change understandable when you return to your save. The exact menu wording visible in your build is the final control reference.

Make one change and compare it

  1. Save separately and note your difficulty and current settings.
  2. Enable the preset or the particular assistance you want in Accessibility.
  3. Try a safe example: activate Witcher Senses, inspect carried weight, or swim near a reachable shore.
  4. For regeneration, review both the activation threshold and intensity shown in the menu; test while safe instead of during an unfamiliar boss fight.
  5. Return to the menu and adjust or undo the option if it does not suit your run.

Keep difficulty and achievement goals separate

An accessibility preset, a difficulty change and a modded save are different things. This guide does not promise eligibility for every difficulty-related achievement after changing settings. If that is your main goal, check the exact achievement conditions before changing your run. Console mod rules are explained in modded saves and achievements.

If you loaded an old character and combat suddenly feels wrong, also check the skill reset; an accessibility change is not a substitute for allocating the character’s abilities.
