The Witcher 3 Remastered PS5 graphics modes: Performance, ray tracing and VRR

Choose Performance or Ray Tracing using the announced targets, distinguish PS5 Pro VRR features, and compare launch stutter reports without copying a universal preset.

Match console and display

Compare Performance and Ray Tracing on your actual console. CDPR announces dedicated PS5 Pro features, including PSSR and up to 90 FPS in Performance with VRR. Those Pro features are not an FPS guarantee for a base PS5.

Make a mode choice you can compare

Record base PS5 or PS5 Pro, the selected mode and whether your display supports and uses VRR. Begin with the same saved scene in each mode. Compare camera motion and image quality rather than relying on another player’s console name alone.

The official launch targets are goals, not a promise that every city scene holds the same frame rate. The 5.00b update includes lighting adjustments and parity changes; PC 5.00c is not a PS5 patch number.

If launch stutter is your problem

  1. Update and record the version first. Keep the same save and scene for comparison.
  2. Compare the two available graphics modes.
  3. Optionally test blur and lens effects individually. A Reddit player reported improvement after disabling them, but other players still had stutter.
  4. Watch whether the hitch coincides with an autosave. Record that observation rather than lengthening autosave intervals as an assumed fix.
  5. Keep the setting you prefer, or restore it if there is no repeatable benefit.

Do not copy display-specific numbers

The launch discussion contains conflicting results and incomplete display/build information. No universal HDR brightness, camera sensitivity or guaranteed stutter cure follows from it. If you report the problem, include the console model, display capabilities, mode, version and short video of the same test route.

If your issue is absent rewards or cloud saves, use reward status or cross progression; changing a graphics mode does not diagnose those systems.
